Last night my husband and I had the opportunity to attend an outstanding Burgundy tasting offered by my local shop, The Corkscrew. Sean O’Hare from Fine Vines in Chicago was our guest for the evening as he presented an impressive lineup of wines paired with courses prepared by Chef Coffey at American Harvest Eatery.
A warning to Burgundy-lovers. You might want to sit down for this…
Our welcome drink was a purely pristine glass of Bergerac from Château Haut Sarthes.

OK. Now that is just pure evil when I’m sitting here drinking my inexpensive Chilean wine.

I know. It was ridiculous. I’m back to normal today, but I felt a tad royal last night. Thanks for reading & commenting!

You have one very impressive store there – great selection. Had you have to pay for the tasting?

Much of that wine is part of the Fine Vines portfolio. Impressive, no?
This event was open to customers of The Corkscrew, not a trade tasting. Such an opportunity!

Yes, very impressive. I would guess The Corkscrew has very good customers.

It did have a fee, $50/person…but well worth every penny!

okay, that actually makes sense. Great wines, so no argument on the value. Cheers!
